OLD PAGE Hot Topics, Support Groups & Book Club

Adults and seniors who are visually impaired and blind are invited to attend our Group and Hot Topic activities which are designed to help maintain and increase independence and reduce the isolation many people experience because of vision impairment. These activities are provided at no-cost to past and present clients and their families; they are also available to other adults and seniors who are visually impaired and blind living in Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus Counties.

Program Notes

  • Hot Topic classes by provided using Uberconference. UberConference is easy to use—just call us and we’ll walk you through.
  • Most Hot Topics last for about an hour but support groups almost always go over an hour.
  • Support Groups may meet in person and/or online depending on speaker availability and other logistics. Always refer to the monthly schedule to learn how the group will meet.
  • We host a Friends and Family Support Group on the 3rd Saturday of each month. This support group is designed for friends and family members of our clients who want to learn about how to better assist their loved ones and the challenges of loving someone who is blind or visually impaired. If there is enough interest, we will alternate between the Pasco and Brooksville locations. Call the Brooksville Lighthouse to RSVP for the Friends and Family Support Group.
  • The above activities are provided in addition to our regular training programs.
