The “State of Vision” specialty license plate raises awareness and funds for services that support people who are visually impaired and blind. Funds raised for plates in Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus Counties come to Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired and Blind. The cost to have a “State of Vision” specialty license plate is $25 annually plus the cost of registration. “State of Vision” specialty license plates can be ordered from your local tax collector office. Click here to find the Florida Motor Vehicles office nearest you. Take your current tag and buy A State of Vision license plate. You will get credit for all unused time on your current tag.
You can also order a “State of Vision” license plate gift certificate for your family and friends. Please note, this program is only available when enough plates are sold in Florida so your purchase is essential to keeping the program running.
Another way you can help is by making a donation when you renew your driver’s license or when you renew your registration/license plate. Simply check the donate to Blind Babies and Blind Youth Services checkbox on your renewal slip to make a $1 donation to the agency serving people who are visually impaired near you.
Now for some fun—once you’ve got your “State of Vision” specialty license plate, we invite you to take a photo, share it on social media, and tag Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired and Blind. We are on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Thank you for your support of services for Floridians who are visually impaired and blind!
