Programs & Services

Who is eligible?

Residents of Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties who are experiencing significant vision loss or blindness, demonstrate the need for vision rehabilitation training, and provide medical verification of vision impairment are eligible for services.   • Individuals who are interested in participating in Lighthouse programs must first apply through the the Florida Division of Blind Services (DBS) using their online service application. For help with the application, call DBS at 813-871-7190 or the Lighthouse at 727-815-0303.
  • To make a referral to the Lighthouse, fill out our referral form and send it to the Lighthouse for the Visually Impaired and Blind, 9130 Ridge Road, New Port Richey, FL 34654 or email it to lighthouse@lvib.org. You can also call 727-815-0303 to make a referral.

Cost of Lighthouse Services

  • All program training and client transportation for training provided at no cost, thanks to the generosity of our donors.
  • Unfortunately, we do not have the funding to provide transportation for drop-ins, art class, support group, awareness events, and other activities provided outside our core programs. Some of the costs for art and drop-in supplies are also not covered by the Lighthouse. Please ask for details.

Title VI

  • Florida Law and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Prohibits Discrimination in Public accommodation on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicap, or of marital status.
